About me

Over mij

My name is Nynke! My passion lies in exploring the body and health and, where possible, improving them.

This interest has been with me from a young age. I am fascinated by who people are and what they have to share.

In my previous roles as a nurse and as a lecturer in health promotion, it was the contact and the conversations with people that made my work so meaningful. As a nurse in hospital care and as a social nurse at the MOA Medical Care for Asylum Seekers, I learned how culture, life experiences, and beliefs from our past can influence which illnesses or symptoms arise and how people deal with them. Through the many conversations I had with migrants and with people living with cancer or a chronic illness, I was often struck by the resilience of our system, body, and mind. When people become ill, they realise that health is what allows them to do the things they enjoy. Illness can then act as a wake-up call to make different behavioural choices. This certainly applies to me as well!

As a lecturer in Higher Professional Education Nursing, the focus of my work was on teaching health promotion and on supervising and guiding students. Being able to contribute to both the professional and personal development of students gave me a great sense of fulfilment. Teaching health education and behavioural change reignited my own desire to put this into practice again myself.

Starting my own practice

I felt ready to determine my own direction. My passion for health and awareness, combined with my knowledge and experience, truly comes into its own in my own lifestyle coaching practice. I find it deeply fulfilling to have personal conversations with people who are open to change towards better health and a more enjoyable life.
